Farmers advised to share grievances

Director of Nagaland Research Center (NRC) of Mithun, Dr. A Mitra, has asked the farmers to share their grievances with farmer’s scientists to solve their problems and to bring about solution. He said NABARD, ATMA, Horticulture department and NRC should work together for the welfare and uplift of the farmers.
The Director said this while addressing the farmers as the chief guest at exhibition cum farmer’s scientist interaction held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Centre, Medziphema, on Saturday.
The guest of honour and General Manager of NABARD, V Chelladuria, said NABARD had promoted 200 farmers so far adding more were yet to be established and promoted. He mentioned that NABARD have been utilizing tribal community funds for the development of farmers. He also said four major projects had been launched in four districts and the department was trying to set up the projects in all the districts in Nagaland. 
Chelladuria asked ATMA to play a better role for the improvement of farmers and also requested the farmers to form an association in all the villages for better development. Further, he encouraged the farmers to utilize the facilities and schemes that were provided to them.
The programme was organized by KVK, Dimapur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Nagaland Centre, in collaboration with ATMA Dimapur.
The welcome address was delivered by Join Director, Dr. C Deka and CIH Director and chairman’s remark was presented by Dr. Lallan Ram and Dr. A.K Tripathi, ZPD zone-III, respectively. The vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Project Director of ATMA, Janeth.
