MLA S. Chuba Longkumer, who was recently inducted as parliamentary secretary for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary (AH &V), Thursday said without unity, cooperation, sincerity and dedication, no department could function well.
He was speaking at his welcoming programme organised by V&AH department on May 14 at directorate conference hall.
Stating that veterinary department was one of the largest departments in the state, which could develop every section of the society, the parliamentary secretary urged all the functionaries of the department from top to bottom should perform.
Longkumer asserted that oriented development could be achieved through constant effort, dedication and transparency. He also urged the staffs to work for better economic and social status of the people and set an example to other departments in the state. While welcoming parliamentary secretary, V&AH director Dr. R.T Ezung highlighted the cadre review of the department and inspection tour of all veterinary institutes in eleven districts, which was carried out in the month of April 2015.
He said the departmental officers and staffs have the enthusiasm and zeal to take all departmental activities to a higher level, adding that it required constant support, guidance and cooperation of the parliamentary secretary.
The director also mentioned that commissioner and secretary L.H. Thangi Mannen’s experience has added advantage to the department.
The programme was chaired by additional director and managing director of NLDP Dr. Rongsentemjen, invocation prayer was offered by additional director Dr. I.P Khala, welcome song was presented by ladies staffs and vote of thanks was proposed by additional director Dr. Viral Yore.
