AICC decision on 8 MLAs within 2-3 weeks: Therie

All India Congress Committee (AICC) would take the call on the fate of the eight Congress MLAs who were suspended by the AICC on May 9 and the decision could be made within two to three weeks, said Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president, K. Therie said on Wednesday.
The eight Congress MLAs were suspended by the AICC and served with a show cause notice on May 9 for defying the directive of the AICC not to join the DAN government headed by chief minister T.R. Zeliang because arch political foe, the BJP is also in the DAN alliance.
 Talking to Nagaland Post, K. Therie said that the eight MLAs had submitted their replies to the show cause notices and the matter was now with the AICC. He opined that the AICC will then forward the matter to the AICC’s disciplinary action committee. 
He also admitted that nothing was certain currently since the outcome would only known after the AICC takes the decision in two or three weeks time. 
Therie is currently is in Delhi to get the approval from the AICC for the appointment of new NPCC office bearers.
Meanwhile, sources informed Nagaland Post that the eight legislators also met senior Congress leaders in Delhi last week and explained about the their stand.
