
The synonym of Piano and classical music in contemporary Nagaland, Nise Meruno is all set to tour Europe, the birthplace of all known and unknown classical pieces, the mother to all famous classical musicians, composers and performers.
Getting the chance to tour Europe would always be the ultimate dream of any diehard classical musician and with this remarkable feat Nise would once again prove the typical Naga mindset wrong that equipped with the right attitude and dedication, musicians can achieve so much more than any other profession both financial and fame-wise and it is not just white collared jobs and conventional professions Nagas should be pursuing.
Nise has been instrumental in setting a standard of classical music in Nagaland with the sizeable awards, recognitions and international stages he had dominated.
In the upcoming Europe tour, Nise would be performing with Delhi based “The Capital City Minstrels” (CCM), a group of singers that had made their presence felt both in India and abroad with more than 200 concerts at prestigious venues to their credit besides the countless extravagant performances since their inception in 1994.
20 best performers from the CCM have been selected for the tour and Nise will be representing the Northeast with his exceptional Piano skills.
CCM in continuation of its celebrations in the completion of two decades of its existence has planned this tour with financiers pouring in from different fields with the chief sponsor being the European Union.
The group is set to perform in 8 concerts, 4 countries, 14 days including unofficial additional concerts at various embassies in between the major concerts, which would be very hectic and any professional musician would agree on how heavy the workload would be, nevertheless; the level of professionalism of the performers will also be displayed to its extreme limits.
During the various concerts, Nise would be performing some of his originals with the group which would make sure that the love of classical music Nagas have is also highlighted.
In a short chat, Nise said he was very happy at the thought that he would be taking a part of Nagaland with him in the upcoming tour which will take him to Hungary, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
CCM accompanied by Nise would be strictly performing classical pieces composed by Indian composers and the famous venues includes Pannonhalma Abbey Museum-Hungary, The Tagore Centre-Embassy of India-Germany and Nouvelle Grande Salle de Bassins (New Concert Hall)-Salle Plyvalente-Switzerland.
Nise would be leaving for the tour on Friday.
