Home department has clarified that “no orders have been issued by the government for shifting of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office, Dimapur to Chumukedima.”
In a press communiqué, Home Commissioner Neihu C. Thur said that the DC was only instructed to supervise shifting of new offices that are accommodated in rented buildings to the new complex.
CAKU appeals to govt.
Reacting to various statements published against shifting of DC’s office, Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) has expressed dismay and urged upon the state government to “immediately initiate the shifting of DC office to its lawfully constructed building at Chumukedima without further delay”. In a press release, CAKU president Luola-o Usou and general secretary Thejangulie Angami appealed to the citizens of Dimapur “not to create any propaganda nor manipulate the issue for the interest of individual or community gain”.
It said that whoever is appointed as DC Dimapur, irrespective of its office location, he/she was for all communities irrespective of tribes, caste or sex etc. In this regard, CAKU said “cheap misapprehension of ism should be removed from the thought of every right thinking citizens”.
The union also appealed to all leaders and elders of various NGOs in and around Dimapur not to mislead the younger generation in any manner. By distorting traditional historical facts and its circumstances, the price of the repercussion would be intolerable, it added. CAKU said it would never accept “any move or action against any developmental works in its traditional jurisdiction by any organization, union or association.”
