ZPO executive meeting at Jalukie

Zeliang people’s organization Nagaland (ZPO) held an executive meeting at Jalukie town on June 5 to uphold its general meeting resolution of August 23, 2014, “that any matter concerning the welfare of Zeliang people of Peren district shall be solely responsible by the Zeliang people’s organization Nagaland and no other organization is competent to do so, as such, no organization shall be allowed to determine the future of indigenous Zeliang people of Nagaland”.

A press release issued by media cell of ZPO stated, “ZPO is yet to publish any documentation on the values, traditional practices, and customary law of the Zeliang people”, as such a printed material on Zeliang customary law supposedly published on May 28, 2015 was an “act of deception and affront” which the Zeliang people do not acknowledge.  While maintaining the stand of ZPO as guardian of the Zeliang people, the press release also stated that the schemers themselves are “accountable on the ignominy of that instance”.
