Jacob seeks for review of sub basins covering state

Parliamentary secretary for irrigation and flood control, Jacob Zhimomi has sought for review of all the master plans of the sub basins covering Nagaland namely, Dhansiri, Bhogdoi (Tsurang), Jhansi (Milak) Jhanji (Tizit) and Dikhu during 8th meeting of High Power Review Board of Brahmaputra Board on June 19 at New Delhi.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of union minister for water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation, Uma Bharti.
In his address, Jacob impressed upon the board to review all the master plans of the sub basins covering Nagaland and make a comprehensive recommendation in the master plans covering all aspects of water resources programmes and activities including measures for mitigation of landslide in the catchment area. 
He also highlighted the problems of landslides in the hills and requested the board to recommend mechanism and funding for activities of landslide mitigation measures in the hills. 
Besides the agenda of the member states, the board discussed restructuring of Brahmaputra board into “north east and Brahmaputra rivers rejuvenation authority” and decided to finalize the bill in a time frame of three months from now and approve in the next meeting which is being proposed to be held in Nagaland.
