Taking serious stance on the absence and negligence of official duties by some of the officers, the NPF youth of Peren division has voiced out their grievances.
A press release issued by press secretary NPF division youth Peren, M. Adim stated that Peren being close to Dimapur and Kohima, most of the officers functioned from these locations.
The release said that people’s “silence and ignorance” ought not to be taken for granted. The division alleged “some of the offices are opened only at the beginning part of the month” for salary disbursement and remain closed for the rest of the month.
The press release also stated that people of the district hardly see the faces of the officers and eventually they are transferred. The division also drew attention to the neglected government quarters as the occupants hardly stay there and furthermore claimed that some officers run their offices through telephones only.
NPF youth also pointed out that some officers only pay fleeting visits during planning board meetings or visits by VIPs and higher authority.
It has therefore cautioned officers and staffs of various departments to attend to their duties regularly. NPF youth also resolved to go on “surprise visits” and warned that action would be initiated on the erring officers and staff.
