MC reaffirms faith in TPO to resolve land dispute

July 19, 2015 | by admin

Mao Council (MC) has asserted, that its memorandum submitted to the government of Manipur on April 23, 2015 for protection of Mao land at Koziirii and Dziiko would take no further effect, as it will not pursue the matter since the land dispute was in the judicial court of Tenyimi People’s  Organisation (TPO).
The Mao Council through its publicity wing said the  memorandum had created some confusion in the minds of Naga brothers and expressed regret if it had caused any misunderstanding or an “undesirable situation in our society”.
MC said it had reposed trust and confidence in TPO , through its representatives at the July 4,2015 meeting, for TPO to take up the matter under TPO’s banner and which was subsequently and unanimously endorsed by the general body of the Council on July 11,2015 for arbitration by TPO.
The council prayed that the Tenyimi People’s  Organisation would adjudicate the issue as per tradition and customary law of the Tenyimi people and in true justice to bring about mutual trust and understanding between the two concerned  parties and the Tenyimi family in general.
The Council expressed its appreciation of the tireless efforts by Angami Public Organisation, CPO, NMA, KVC and NPO to help resolve the matter amicably.
Further, Mao Council also appreciated the good wishes of NSF,ENPO, ANSAM, Naga Council Dimapur, Tenyimi Union Dimapur, Angami, Mao and other Naga churches for their prayer support for reconciliation.
