PSU holds mass public rally

A mass public rally under the aegis of Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) was held on July 21 to protest against the July 16 brutal killing of two of its members– Aso and Tiizali and also injuring a pregnant woman, Easter. 
In a press note, PSU vice president, Atsopu Pfithu stated that the rally was attended by around 4000 people from all walks of life. The progamne was chaired by Er. Joyson Pfithu, president PSU. Thos who spoke at the rally include– Pochury Hoho president Penthu Pochury; Pochury Mothers’ Association president, Machii Joshou. Addressing the rally, PSU president condemned the actions of the 46 AR ‘C’ Coy under the command of Maj. Surinder Singh. Joyson accused the AR for intentionally killing the two students and injuring a pregnant woman. Pfithu said such action, taking the innocent lives of students without any reason was unacceptable. 
He said that the so called “Friends of the Hill people” have turned into “foes of the hill people” and questioned– whether they were here for their security or to terrorize and kill them.
He said it was time for Nagas to realize and stand united against such atrocities and killings.  PSU further said that they would not remain a silent spectator till justice was delivered. Other speakers also condemned the actions by the security forces. Later, after the rally, a memorandum was submitted to the ADC Meluri.
