‘Backdoor appointment’ in Kiphire DEF, alleges USSC

United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has alleged “backdoor appointment” of constables, ministerial staff and grade II personal in district executive force (DEF) Kiphire under the establishment of Superintendent of Police, Kiphire.
In a press release, USSC executive chairman Justin Khatomong T stated that at a time when Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) was fighting for the 25% job reservation, such “backdoor appointment” in the Eastern districts of Nagaland displayed how the Eastern Nagas were treated upon despite job reservation policy.
Further, USSC said when many eastern Nagas were being rejected after going through rigorous selection process, those backdoor appointees from across the Nagaland have failed to go through proper set of rules practiced in recruitment process.
Accusing the responsible department for failing to maintain the “sanctity of recruitment process”, USSC stated such “estranged attitude” was clear evidence of manipulation and deprivation of the job reservation policy.
Besides, USSC said such policy of appointment would only have repercussions and unemployed educated youths hold grudge against the department.
It has therefore urged the responsible department to immediately cancel all those recent ‘backdoor appointees’ under DEF Kiphire and call for open recruitment through advertisement so educated unemployed youths of Kiphire district were not deprived. USSC cautioned that failure to cancel, it shall not be held responsible for any future course of action.
