Nagaland Police Baptist Church Association (NPBCA) organized its second training for prison chaplain on “development counseling skills for prison ministry” on July 24 at Mission compound, Chumukedima with DABA counselor Dr. Moa Imsong as resource person.
During training, Imsong asked the trainees to understand and respect the needs of a people and encouraged them to motivate people to grow and develop their potential. He also reminded the counselors to seek guidance from God.
In the training, definition of counseling, types of counseling and basic principles in counseling were also imparted to the participants.
Superintendent of jail Zunheboto, Khushito Awomi while exhorting the gathering mentioned that prison department has around 1000 employees with 12 jails in the state. He said jail chaplains were spiritual leaders who help the inmates to understand the problems.
The sessions were moderated by mission secretary G. Kath and women secretary Pusuinla.
