Fishery pond management training for villagers in Dmu

Department of land resources, Dimapur in collaboration with fishery department conducted a one-day training on fishery pond management on Tuesday at Fishery Office, Nagarjan Dimapur for beneficiaries under ‘Integrated Wastelands Development Project’ (IWMP).
The training, divided into two sessions of pre-stock management and post stock management, laid emphasis on proper management of fishery farming for the beneficiaries. The pre-stock management session was conducted by assistant inspector, fisheries department, Nochet and post stock session was conducted by fishery demonstrator Adizenuo Dolie. District project officer, land resources Dimapur Hekato Yeptho also encouraged the participants during the session. 
Altogether 50 beneficiaries from IWMP 3 to IWMP 9 Dimapur participated in the training where pamphlet on fishery pond management was distributed to each participant. 
Meanwhile, the department has arranged for the supply of fingerlings to the beneficiaries on July 29, 3 p.m. at the fishery office, Nagarjan Dimapur. An estimated 24000 fingerlings would be distributed depending on the size of water harvesting structure.
