Personnel of Women cell and Dimapur police seized around 76 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and four persons including a female were arrested on separate occasions from various locations in and around Dimapur town.
On Friday, women cell personnel seized 10 cases of IMFL from inside a maruti alto (AS01AQ-3956) at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
In this connection one female was arrested, police said.
On July 29, Dimapur Police personnel seized 4330 bottles of IMFL near Kushiabill area, Dimapur.
According to police, the IMFL were seized from Mahindra Scorpios (NL06-2641, NL07-0627 and NL03-1276) after hot pursuit near Kushiabill area. The occupants of the vehicles managed to escape. A case has been registered at East Police Station and investigation is underway. Dimapur police personnel on July 21 also seized 16 cases of IMFL from inside a Hyundai i20.
One person identified as Nipato Yepthomi has been arrested and a case registered at West Police Station.
Also, police personnel manning Newfield Check Gate seized 14 cases of IMFL from inside a government registration vehicle a bolero (NL10-9408) on July 18. Two persons identified as Sangte Konyak and Akum Yimchunger have been arrested and the case registered at West Police station.
