Messages on the eve of the 68th anniversary of ‘Naga Independence Day’ on August 14, were given by leaders of various Naga Political Groups  (NPGs).
President GPRN/NSCN: Khole Konyak, said the Naga Peace Accord signed between the government of India and NSCN(I-M) was “better known to them” . He said GPRN/NSCN would gracefully support any solution “ for our brothers in Manipur or NSCN (IM)”
President NNC (N/A), M. Kiumukam Yimchunger appealed to leaders of all groups to come to an understanding and speak in one voice for “one unified nation”.  President of NNC/FGN ‘Brig.’(retd)S.Singya said the language of modernity has sucked the Naga language of sovereignty.  ‘Ato Kilonser’ NNC (N/A) Hozheto Z. Chophi said NNC/NA was not opposed to any solution with the government of India by any group except surrendering Naga flag and Yehzabo. Temjenyanger Aier , president NNC/NA on the Peace Accord said nothing could be said till its contents were revealed.
Acting president of NNC, Z. Royim Yimchungrü expressed sadness over the signing of the Accord (GoI and NSCN-IM), bypassing the majority of NPGs and stakeholders and thus creating “destructive division and political confusion.” He hit out at the NSCN (I-M) leadership for so much bloodshed against Shillong Accord 40 years ago and now following the same path.
