JVC dismayed over deplorable road condition

Dismayed over deplorable condition of the road that connects 75 villages, Joint Village Council (JVC) of Darogajan, Kushiabil, Bhamunphukhur-I&II, Zani and Samaguri village together with the Brick Field Owners’ Union (BFOU) and Sand Mahalders Union (SMU) took up the initiative to carry out road renovations work here Saturday, covering 7 km staring from Darogajan village gate, near Zion hospital. 
The repairing work was initiated for the welfare and benefit of the public as well as for the school children, said JVC. 
Talking to Nagaland Post, JVC chairman Viniho L. Shohe said that for years the route has been the main transport road for heavy trucks plying bricks and sand from the area. However, he lamented that the government has neglected the road despite it being an important route for people living in that area and others.
He also lamented that during rainy season the road becomes worst due to potholes making it difficult for public and students to ply. The council has further appealed the government to take initiative and look into the matter at the earliest. 
JVC also mentioned that it has submitted a memorandum for the same and added that the department had assured to take up further steps. In this regard, the council has urged upon the department to supervise the work along with the council members.
