District Health Society (DHS) department of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) organized a one-day health mala on September 4 at Mekokla village.
The medical team was led by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr.Enrithung Lotha along with medical superintendent of district hospital Dr.W.N Ezung, deputy CMO Dr.Tumchobeni, DTO Dr.Benchilo, ZLO Dr.Mhonchan, Obstetrics & gynecology Dr.Emmanuel SMO Bhandari, Dr.William, Dr. Liphamo, Dr.Chonbenthung, Dr.Nzanthung Dr.Khyothungo, Matsung, DPM (NHM), Lichumo DPO (DAPCU) pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians and NHM.
While briefing on the purpose of health mela, Dr. Enrithung said melas were meant for delivering health services at the doorstep and to let the public avail the services and adopt healthy living styles for better living.
During the mela 9 ANCs, 21 dental extractions, 23 sputum test, 84 blood test on malaria and ICTC, IEC activities including FGD on benefits of Immunization, breast feeding, family planning, safe motherhood, JSY, JSSK, malaria, Iodine, leprosy, TB, and HIV/AIDS were carried out.
Handouts, posters, pamphlets, OCPs and condoms were also distributed. A total of 410 patients availed health service.
