While there is an alarming increase of people being without a job in the state, many of the Nagas youth consider white collars job as the only avenue for livelihood.
This was stated by minister for forest, environment and climate change, Dr. Nicky Kire while addressing Chang students on the occasion of Chang Students’ Union Kohima (CSUK) 12th freshers’ meet on September 12 at Ura Academy, Kohima.
Kire said that state government has also taken serious note on this problem and for which it had initiated skill development programme in the recent years. He asked the youths to avail these opportunities instead of seeking for government jobs. Kire also urged the students to desist from indulging in unwanted activities which would destroy their future.
Speaking as a guest speaker, OSD Higher Education, Chubasangla asserted that education was a platform where students develop their ideas, courage and prepare to take calculated risks. She urged the students to lead the society towards progress and development by harnessing the knowledge and applying it in the right path. The programme was chaired by Betisonla.
