National Service Scheme (NSS) Dimapur District Unit, represented by Volunteers of Dimapur Government College and Pranabananda Women’s College, in commemorating International Day of Non-Violence organized a Peace Marathon on October 2 from dhobinalla police point and culminated at D.C Court police point.
Earlier in the programme, the welcome speech was delivered by Mezhulhoulie Angami, programme officer NSS-DGC wherein he addressed the volunteers to observe the day in the true spirit of non-violence. The Pledge of non-violence and peace was administered by Ulla Fernandez, programme officer, NSS-P.W.C. Nguvitho Nyuthe, district sports officer, flagged off the marathon.
More than 200 NSS volunteers along with four assistant professors and DSO participated in the peace marathon.
