Dr. Shurhozelie releases book titled ‘The Dancing Village’

President NPF, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu released a children’s book titled “The dancing village” written by Easterine Kire and published by Bark Weaver at LCS building conference hall, Saturday.
While releasing the book, Dr. Shurhozelie congratulated the author for giving a “good book” to the society and said that the book was written in an “extraordinary style…simple and beautiful with a big moral”.
He said that Easterine Kire is the first lady writer to have written in English language in Nagaland adding that the state was “very lucky” to have a writer of her stature. He also congratulated Kire for all her achievements.
Apprising on the aim in writing children’s book, the author Easterine Kire said that the main aim was to engage the imagination of children and to teach the children about folk dance. She also thanked the illustrator of “The dancing village” Akuo Miachieo.
Chairperson of the programme, Vizovono Elizabeth said that “The Dancing Village” is the 25th book and the second children’s book with a Naga theme by Easterine Kire.
She informed that Kire started writing career in 1982 and is also the first Naga author to venture into writing children’s book.
Further, it has been informed that “The Dancing Village” would be made available at Kohima- Education Connection, Crossword, Cornerstone, Pages, Academic Publishers, Peak Agency and Bible Houses. The book would also be available online at www.ilandlo.com.
