NPCC imbroglio: 11 DCCs condemn Oct 16 incident

October 18, 2015 | by admin

Presidents of the eleven District Congress Committee (DCC) have vehemently condemned the October 16 incident at Congress Bhavan, Kohima.
In a joint statement, the 11 DCC presidents– Kughato Aye (Dimapur), Aluibe Iheilung (Peren), Kevi Vizo (Kohima), Mikha Kenye (Phek), Tia Lkr (Mokokchung), Hoveto Kiba (Zunheboto), Rabomo Ngullie (Wokha), Takyong Konyak (Mon), Shanngai Phom (Longleng), Mosha Chang (Tuensang) and S. Thritsali Sangtam (Kiphire) alleged that some “few disgruntled suspended leaders of the party brought paid thugs” to Congress Bhavan Kohima  and attempted to lock down the office of PCC president.
For whatever arguments the suspended leaders may have to justify their actions, it has crossed all forms of decency and exposed their narrow mindset which does not hold any place in a civilized society, they said.
“Some of the suspended members must also remember that Kohima is not Kohima alone, but the capital of Nagaland where all tribes reside,” the signatories said.
While reposing faith in the leadership of K Therie as the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee president, the signatories further appealed to all party workers to refrain from further provocations in the greater interest of the party.
“We also appeal for maintenance of discipline and abide by the directives of the party at this crucial juncture,” they said.
