Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) celebrated 2nd annual cultural day under the theme “our culture, our pride” on October 28 at School campus with SDO (C) Jalukie Rhosietho Ngouri as theme speaker.
Speaking on the occasion, Ngouri emphasized on the importance of preserving the rich culture and said each culture was unique and that “we” should take pride in “our” culture and customs.
Ngouri also said besides rich cultural songs and dances “our” culture has many things to teach us which can be incorporated in the present social system.
More than 200 students participated in traditional parade, folk songs and folk dance competition.
The programme was chaired by PGST, O Lima Longkumer and PGST, Temsuinla Longkumer, invocation was said by JTBC, Mongzeung Mpom, welcome address was delivered by principal Pipi Gloria Chishi while vote of thanks and benediction was pronounced by headmistress Narola Imchen.
