December 29, 2015 | by admin

Niuland Area Students’ Union held its 23rd annual conference from December 27 to 29 at Kiyezu ‘A’ village with “perpetuity of education” as its theme.  Block Development Officer Aghunaqa Block, Khehovi Yeputho graced the inaugural session as chief guest on Monday morning while Y. Isawoto Zhimomi exhorted the gathering of the introductory session on Sunday evening.
Addressing the student delegates who were attending the conference from villages under Niuland area, chief guest primarily stressed on the need to inculcate the spirit of work-culture in society, especially among the younger generations.
He was of the view that work-culture would bring about major change and have immense impact towards the overall growth of the society inclusive of economic aspects.
He challenged the students to be assets of the society urging students to think of what they could do for the society and not what the society could do for them. He encouraged them to make best use of their abilities for the community and reminded them to make “success” their goal as there was no reason why they would fail when others succeeded as long it is pursued through determination and education. “Winners do not do different things but do things differently”, he added.
Khehovi also talked about the need of preservation and promotion of culture and language – the inherent identity of the community. Further, he called upon the students to always seek God “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:3) and to respect and love their parents, which is the foremost of all good behaviors.
Chief Guest also unfurled the flag of the union. Men-folk of K. Hetoi village presented cultural dance. Former president NASU, Hekiye Awomi chaired the function while chairman, Niuland Area GBs Union, Kakuho Yepthomi proposed vote of thanks.
