Diphupar Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (DSKK) held its 36th annual session Tuesday at Diphupar with secretary (finance) Y. Kikheto Sema IAS as the chief guest.
In his address, Kikheto highlighted the need for peace in Naga society saying “now is the time for Nagas to make peace and not war.”  He called upon the Nagas to forgive and forget the past and to move on together as one towards a greater future.
He also expressed pain over the killings that are taking place in the state and said that Nagas could not afford to inherit killings and then pass it on to next generation.
Referring DSKK’s motto, “live for value,” Kikheto said living a valuable life meant that one should value life. However, he lamented that the value of life was drastically eroding with rampant killings in the Naga society.
Describing Diphupar as a cosmopolitan area where almost all Naga communities reside, he encouraged the Sumi community inhabiting the area to set positive examples and promote peace and unity.
He also advised the students to be humble as they climb the ladder of success and contribute their part to the society.
Delivering a brief speech, Diphupar Naga Students’ Union, president, Sakulemba Jamir lauded the support and contributions rendered by the DSKK towards Diphupar village and its constituents.
The inaugural programme was attended by host of former officials from Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Western Sumi Hoho representatives, Sumi officers and other dignitaries. The annual session will culminate on December 30.
