Tuensang civil bodies resolve to uphold peace

A co-ordination meeting comprising CKS, USLP, KTC and Tuensang Town all ward union was held at CKS hall on Wednesday wherein the house decided to form a joint forum for maintaining peace in Tuensang town. In a joint statement, CKS president, M.P. Nokshang; USLP president T.Y. Sangtam; KTC treasurer, T. Neolo Khaim and TTAWU president S. Ato Chang said that the house adopted a 4-point resolution where it was unanimously agreed to maintain peace and tranquility in Tuensang town. The forum also resolved to jointly co-ordinate to shun violence and to initiate prompt action against any individuals/group that violates the resolution.
It resolved that any new person/family that comes to reside (permanent/temporary) in Tuensang town should inform to the concern sector/ward union leaders, and the same to be intimated to the respective village union of Tuensang town.
It said that untimely/overtime gathering in groups and any individual loitering around in suspicious manner should be checked by the respective sector/ ward.
The forum agreed to co-ordinate and approach the state government for security measures as and when required.
Meanwhile, the forum decided to approach DC and SP, Tuensang for deployment of security personnel for night patrolling in Tuensang Town in co-ordination with sector/ ward union.
