Promoting Nagamese unacceptable: APO

February 12, 2016 | by admin

Angami Public Organization (APO) said promotion of Nagamese was unacceptable since the lingua franca has no literature and origin, and therefore, it does not have a merit to be called a language.  In a press release, APO president, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi said, executive members of APO during a meeting held on February 8 discussed the proposal floated by the prime minister office and after thorough deliberation adopted the resolutions.  It also resolved to support the present status quo of English language as the officials language, encourage Hindi, the national language for the benefit of future generation and would confirm the exact statement news and if found necessary will submit a representation to the Prime minister of India.
