As Valentine’s Day approach, the stretch along Nyamo Lotha road Dimapur has been filled with makeshift florist stalls as young people throng to buy flowers for their loved ones.
Besides these makeshift stalls, the gift shops across the town have put up crimson hearts, soft cushions and chocolates in fancy packaging for sale. These shops are stocked with love-themed wrist bands, framed poems, jeweleries, stuffed toys, chocolates, bouquets and greetings cards.
From perfumes to cosmetics to trendy tees, mobile accessories, chocolates, exotic food hampers and gift packed linen, the choices are abundant for anyone looking for that special gift. The bigger stores have special deals and bargain corners that offer packed gifts for different budgets, special offers and sales.
Unlike the previous years, a florist selling flowers on the roadside said this year the price of the flowers have been lowered to Rs. 40 per as most of the customers are college going boys and girls.
The other florist added that the price was set so that the college students could afford the flowers.
Many young and old alike were seen thronging the florist and gift shops at Nyamo Lotha Road. Most of them were seen picking gifts as per their budget.
Despite variety of exotic flowers made available, a florist said red roses have remained the most popular amongst the buyers.
