‘All Nagaland Art and exhibition cum sales’ underway in Kohima

To promote young artists of Nagaland in various fields, All Nagaland Art and exhibition cum sales organized by Incessant Welfare Society Nagaland (IWSN) got underway at State Academy Hall, Tuesday.
Inaugurating the art exhibition cum sales, Ao Baptist Church Lerie, associate pastor Temjen urged the young generation to make positive contributions to the society.
He also lauded IWSN for providing a platform so as to promote local talent and also extended the church’s support for creative and innovative activities.
Associate professor Kohima College, Moanungla Kevichusa also pointed out that IWSN was the only society working incessantly in the state through financial contribution from its members.
She also cited some activities undertaken by IWSN such as- tailoring unit at Lerie, participating in Hornbill festival, visitation of old age home, disabled, cancer patients and poor families, cultural programme in aid of old age home, workshop cum seminar on handicraft of Nagaland, training on modern designing, fund raising for disabled and underprivileged and legal awareness about crime against women.
Kevichusa further apprised on the vision of IWSN which were to render charitable services and promote the welfare of the society, to promote literature, art and culture and also preservation of traditional heritage.
She said the society also aims to provide facilities for women and girls of less privileged families in the field of weaving, handicraft line, tailoring line etc. and to undertake any kind of social welfare activities and any income generating units.
Kevichusa said IWSN also extends help to co-ordinate child care and orphanage centers and sponsor financial and other help to orphans handicap and social economically backward people and to build a rescue home for the needy.
It may be mentioned that, three days exhibition cum sale house paintings, clothing and handicraft made by local artists and would be open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm till February 18.
