As part of week-long celebration, Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) would be observing “World Consumer Rights Day” on March 15, and would also be launching of new Voluntary Consumer Organizations (VCOs).
In a press release, NVCO media cell said, Tseminyu Sub-Division Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (TSDVCO) would be officially launched by the president of NVCO Kezhokhoto Savi on March 12 at Tseminyu town hall. Kohima Law College would also be observing “World Consumer Rights Day” on March 15 at its college premises in the morning while another session would be held in the afternoon at Nagaland College of Teachers Education (NCTE), Kohima with Kezhokhoto Savi would the resource person.
In this regard, every district and institution has been requested to observe the day.
NVCO has also expressed resentment against the schools/institutes selling students’ text book and exercises books much above the printed price in their own premises, the newspaper sellers charging above the printed price including union or associations selling newspaper by way of asking free will donations, etc.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization has also reaffirmed the ban called by Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) of fund-raise in any manner within its jurisdiction.
