United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Akehda Sangtam Thsingmüjanglarü (AST) and United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) on Thursday announced that they have unanimously decided to hold two-day protest on March 11 and 12, 2016 at Headquarters, Kiphire town.
In a press release, USSC general secretary Achumba Sangtam said the protest was called because of state government’s failure to book the culprits of February 6 ambush incident even after setting up of special investigation team (SIT) and lapse of one month.
The proposed protest was also to show their resentment toward government’s delayed tactics and insincerity over the issue and non-fulfilment of the charter of demands made by the three Apex bodies on February 8, 2016, stated the release.
Pointing out that the suspension of the resolution No-1 adopted on February 15, 2016 would be resumed, which was temporarily suspended after the visit of various peace mission teams, the USSC has therefore appealed all the students, officers and the general public to cooperate with the apex bodies.
