KUD condemns rape, murder attempt

April 3, 2016 | by admin

Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD) has vehemently condemned the alleged rape and murder attempt on a minor on March 28 night.
In a press note, KUD president B. Peniang and general secretary Khomo P said that the minor, a bonafide citizen, was staying as a domestic help in one of the houses at Indisen village, Dimapur.
KUD said the miscreant trespassed into the private compound and entered the victim’s room with an attempt to rape. When the victim resisted and shouted for help, the miscreant caught her by the neck, with an intention to murder, KUD stated. The victim later fainted and was taken to Dimapur Hospital and then shifted to Zion Hospital in an unconscious state for further treatment, it said.
KUD has appealed to all right thinking citizens to condemn such barbaric and satanic act, saying it was beyond imagination to comprehend such ugly deed in a Naga Christian society.
The union has demanded the administration and law enforcing agency to immediately book the culprit, as per the FIR lodged at West Police Station Dimapur without delay.
KUD has also informed to all guardians and its citizens to register themselves with the union in order to avoid kind of difficulties in the future.
