Krishi Vigayan Kendra(KVK), Mon organized Farmers Fair cum Awareness Programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana on saturday at local ground, Aboi town.
Former legislator, Nyeiwang Konyak graced the occasion as chief guest and in his address, urged the farmers to update themselves with various schemes available and establish better link with KVK for technical support.
Short speech on behalf of the farmers was delivered by Koiwang Konyak and Col. Vikram, 9th Bihar Regiment, Aboi. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Paihem Michui, SMS (Veterinary & Animal Husbandry), KVK, Mon. The programme also witnessed cultural dances from various village unions. Altogether 850 farmers and farm women were benefited by attending the programme as well as visiting the technology showcasing stall.
Earlier invocation prayer was pronounced by pastor Nagamese Faith Baptist Fellowship, Yanching Walim. SMS (Agronomy), KVK, Mon, Puchono Kweho welcomed the gathering followed by highlights on PMFBY by SMS (Genetics & Plant Breeding), KVK, Mon, Dr. M.S. Sachan. Programme co-ordinator, KVK, Mon, Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu chaired the programme.
