DIMAPUR: Epidemic outbreak of animal diseases in Gaili village Peren district had led to death of about 60 buffaloes and cows.
A press release by chairman, village council Gaili, Hegapungpe Haikube stated that timely intervention of veterinary and animal husbandry department had contained the outbreak.
It stated that chief veterinary officer Peren visited Gaili village on April 15 for spreading awareness, vaccination and distribution of anti-virals to control the epidemic outbreak which had started in the first week of April.
It stated that the village council was grateful to the concerned department for taking necessary measures and showing special concern to the village.
It also appealed the department to continue assisting the villagers to overcome such calamities in the future.
