Epidemic kills buffaloes at Dungki village: DVC

Dungki village council chairman, Namgong has stated that a dreadful killer disease of buffaloes in the form of an epidemic has hit Lamhai-Dungki village.
In a statement, Namong said that the epidemic has caused havoc and turmoil amongst the farmers of Peren district where hundreds of buffaloes reportedly died within as short span of time.
The farmers had reported the matter to the village council after which it was brought to the notice of SDO (Civil).
Though the Veterinary department had provided vaccinations, Namong said there was no sign of improvement.
As the season for cultivation was around the corner, Namong said that the epidemic has severely affected the farmers, who solely depend on buffaloes to plough the terrace fields.  In this regard, DVC has appealed to the state government to take up necessary remedies and support for the survival of the poor villagers.
