‘Behind the Gifts’ a book for teenagers released

A book, ‘Behind the Gifts-Devotions for Early Teenagers’, written by Senchumbeni Samuel Odyuo, a student of Patkai Christian College; was released by Professor Emeritus of Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat-Rev Dr. Ezamo Murry, during a brief ceremony at Aier’s Enclave, Dimapur, Monday.

The book comprising of 31 essays with an array of topics dealing on various emotional, spiritual issues of a teenager was discussed in the book.

Dedicated to her father, Late R Samuel Odyuo, the writer has shown great conviction of her faith through her work which was a commendable feat. 

The essays are narrative and comprises of testimonies, short sermons and excerpts from the Bible and they try to draw the readers towards leading a more holistic Christian life.

Even in a time when electronic gadgets in the form of mobile phones, tablets, e-book readers and computers have invaded the world of readers, books have never lost its glamour.

People, especially bookworms and novel fanatics confess the unexplainable pleasure they derive from the feel of the pages of a good book and some even claims the love of the scent of a book.
