More villages hit by storm in Nagaland

In a delayed report reaching here, more villages were hit by the storm on Sunday night in Zunheboto and Mon districts.
Mon: Heavy hailstorm lashed Sheanghah Chingnyu village under Mon district. According to the villagers, the hailstones were like the size of a cricket ball. 
In a press note, Sheanghah Chingnyu Students’ Union (SCSU) general secretary Honman Wangsa and advisor Peihwang Wangsa said that the hail destroyed many houses particularly the roof-tops, leaving many displaced. Besides damaging various plantations, the storm also cut-off electricity and water supply as the cables and pipelines were damaged. Schools were also paralyzed as the roof-tops were destroyed. 
The villagers of Sheanghah Chungnyu expressed fear about the probable causes of famine like situation as with this catastrophe all standing crops were completely razed down.  In this connection, SCSU appealed to all concern government departments and agencies in the village to assess the details of the damages and to take necessary action. 
Over 100 houses were damaged by the storm under 47th Aboi A/C where villages like Longching, Mohong, Sowa, Aphao and Aboi town were badly affected, local MLA and parliamentary secretary Art &Culture, Eshak Konyak stated. The cyclonic storm also destroyed plantation and crops. Eshak appealed to the state government for immediate relief to the affected victims and called upon the concerned authority asses the damages for necessary action.
Zunheboto: In a press note, head GB Lizuto village P Kahuto Awomi said that the hailstorm that hit Lizuto village “destroyed 21 houses and 113 paddy fields”. He further claimed that “the paddy fields of the entire village have been completely destroyed”.
