
Eight new members have made their vestition and first profession into the Congregation of Mother of Carmel (CMC) on May 7 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish hall, 4th mile Dimapur. Sr. Prima CMC also celebrated her golden jubilee of the religious commitment.
Archbishop of Imphal, Most Rev. Dominic Lumon DD who was the main celebrant in his sermon said that all Christians were consecrated to God in Baptism and through the religious vows this consecration becomes effective.
The Archbishop urged the newly professed sisters to be strong in their commitment in the Lord Jesus and to trust Him profoundly.
The new sisters, Agnes Jajo, Reena Alungle, Agatha Kamsuan, Celina Therese, Therese Pamei, Felicity Prisca, Marilyn Ningshen and Henrietta, accompanied by their parents. The programme under the theme, “Christ Jesus has made me His own” (Phil. 3:12) was con-concelebrated by 36 priests in the presence of Rev. Sr. Sibi CMC, the provincial superior, all her councillors, the parents and relatives of the sisters, nuns and faithful from Manipur, Assam and Dimapur. Provincial superior, Rev. Sr. Sibi accorded the words of welcome, the choir by the aspirants of CMC added liveliness and meaning to the celebration while Rev. Sr. Cecilia Azeina, CMC anchored the program.
During the short felicitation programme, special song was presented by the newly professed sisters and Anthony Haideo, parents’ representative and Sr. Henrietta CMC, newly professed delivered the vote of thanks.
