
Kohima Sumi Hoho (KSH) held its annual session cum election of new office bearers for the year 2016-2019 at Hotel Japfu Kohima, Thursday.
the session, special guest secretary Land Resources Kikheto Sema said that Sumis residing in Kohima should be ambassadors to Sumis living in other parts of the state.
Stating that acts of crime and nuisances were committed by individuals, he felt that it was wrong to bring in the name of community or tribe. He added that good behaviour should overcome the bad and negative ones.
While appreciating the good works done by the outgoing office bearers, he urged the new team of office bearers to carry forward the torch even brighter.
Outgoing president Edward Zhimo highlighted on the activities of the outgoing team and thanked the Sumi community in Kohima for all the support during their three year tenure.
Newly elected president, Dr. Vinito Chishi thanked the search committee for electing him as the president of KSH for the next three years and further sought support from all sections of Sumi community in Kohima.
The new team of office bearers is headed by Dr. Vinito Chishi as president and Dr. I.P. Khala as general secretary along with seven other members.
The declaration of the new office bearers was done by Shiwoto Wotsa, president Sumi Officers’ Union Kohima and the prayer for the new team was conducted bySABCK Pastor Rev.Kiyeto Zhimo. The programme was chaired by outgoing KSH president Edward Zhimo and began with an invocation by SBCK associate pastor Nitoshe Zhimo.
