Reacting to the speeches made by MP Neiphiu Rio, Thenucho Tunyi, N. Thomas Ngullie, Imkong L. Imchen, Y.P. Chillio and Athong Abumai during the reception at Dimapur Airport on May 24, NPF Central Youth Wing has asked Rio to come out clean as claimed.
In a rejoinder the youth wing asked Neiphiu Rio to come out clean and tell the NPF party and the Naga people that he was not involved in dividing the NPF into two camps and that he was not instrumental in destabilizing the present government.
Youth Wing also reminded Rio that when he was reduced to minority in 2004 it was none other than Dr. Shurhozelie as the President of NPF, who had rescued him.
On the case pertaining to Chief minister qualification case, the youth wing said that the party has nothing to comment as the law will take its own course of action and sooner or later the chief minster would be “exonerated”.
The party said it expressed strong faith in the judiciary and hope that justice would be delivered.
Further, the youth wing said NPF party believes in the rule of law for which it was not indulge in commenting on any case which is already in the court of law, which will amount to sub-judice the case.
Women wing
In another rejoinder, NPF Central Women Wing questioned how Neiphiu Rio could say that chief minister T.R. Zeliang was sabotaging the Naga issue when he brought 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly to support the frame Work Agreement.
The intention of T.R. Zeliang is “quite and positive” towards the Naga political issue, it added.
The rejoinder signed by its president Tonlih Wangsa and press secretary Kerei Pfukha further stated that Rio faced numerous opposition because “many people doubted his intention” towards the Naga Issue, however, no one questions the intention of T.R. Zeliang towards the Naga issue except those leaders who wants to capture power in the name of Naga issue.
On the issue of expansion of NPF in Manipur, the women wing stated that they know how much T. R. Zeliang, as the Minister in-charge of Manipur state, has struggled before the launching the NPF party.
They also reminded Neiphiu Rio that every member of the party including the Women Wing have contributed in strengthening the party and brought the party to power.
“He should not say that he is the only one who brought the party to power, we all have our due share”, Women wing said.
Kohima division
In a separate press release, NPF Kohima Division alleged that Rio’s suspension from the party has not come as a shock since the division was aware of the anti-party activities “ever since he demitted the Chief Minister’s office”.
“The suspension, though delayed, has come as a big relief and we thank the Disciplinary Action Committee and the party President for taking the much-awaited decision to get rid of the ring leaders who have been trying their utmost to de-stabilise the NPF-led DAN Government by Chief Minister TR Zeliang,” it added.
