Financial literacy camps held at various villages in state

Bank of Baroda, Dimapur branch, conducted a financial literacy camp at Singrijan Village on May 27 where more than 150 villagers attended in the program.
During the camp, chief manager, Bank of Baroda, Dimapur branch, S.Ninuo Chah, highlighted various facilities available in the Bank and also stressed on the need to inculcate saving habit by all. 
He also requested the villagers to open account with Bank of Baroda and link their accounts with Aadhar as it would benefit them in various ways.
NSCB Mon: Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB) Mon branch organized a Financial Literacy & Credit Consultancy (FLCC) camp at Totok Chingha village, Mon district on May 26 supported under FIF and managed by NABARD.
While speaking as a resource person branch manager, NSCB Mon branch, W. C Kemkai Konyak shared on different products and schemes available with the bank viz. saving bank account, current account, types of deposit with varied interest rates, loan products under KCC, JLG, FC, SHGs, cooperative societies etc. 
He also gave a detailed presentation of the current social security schemes like life insurance ‘PMSBY/PMJJBY’ and pension ‘APY’ was made reach to the village for the first time. 
He expressed happiness for the strong support and initiative of the grass-root agencies like HADO and NSRLM setting a new trend—success story, in credit linkage under NSCB Mon branch.
Resource person DPC NSRLM, Rajuselie L house also shared the entry of rural women program—day -NRLM, with a vision to reduce poverty in the country, where practice of 5 principles cannot be compromised. 
He sought support and cooperation of the men-folk towards women SHG initiative to enable newer opportunities being unfurled in the family. 
Sharing on the importance of financial inclusion, he sent a strong appeal particularly the women to have saving bank account to reap benefits from it. 
The main part of attraction was the interactive session, where a good number of participants raised queries about social security schemes, whereby at the end of the day information and clarifications made by the bank official were well taken by the villagers.
 The meeting begun with invocation prayer pronounced by Deacon, T. Langnyei while benediction by church women leader, Shongmeth. 
Altogether 92 members representing village council, churches, NSRLM SHGs, students and youth and the village Angh attended the camp. 
Vihuto village: Financial literary camp and credit consultancy camp (FLCC camp) supported by FIF managed by NABARD was conducted by Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd. Chumukedima branch at Vihuto village on May 20, led by branch manager, Chumukedima branch, Enok. H. Aomi. 
Resource persons from the bank highlighted on the advantages of banking and having accounts in the bank, while branch manager also spoke on various deposit and credit facilities of the NSCB Ltd, the apex co-operative bank in the state for uplifting the rural mass. 
Earlier the welcome note was given by head GB of Vihuto village, Kisheto Zhimomi, who also appreciated the initiative  of the bank in reaching out to the villages. Invocation was pronounced by pastor Kasheto Zhimomi. The programme also included an interactive session where officials and staff of the bank cleared the queries of the participants. 
Tethuyo village: Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd, Kiphire branch organized a “Financial Literacy & Credit Consultancy Camp,” supported under FIF managed by NABARD at Tethuyo village, Kiphire district on May 15.
 The program began with a prayer by Mr. Suli, Pastor, Tethuyo Village Baptist Church.
Delivering the keynote address, board of director, NStCB Ltd, Kiphire branch, Thsapongkyu Sangtam, stressed on cultivation of local products which were in demand even in the domestic market.  He impressed on the villagers regarding role of the Bank in providing credit towards agricultural activities even for mass scale production. 
Pointing out that anyone could easily approach the Bank and enquire of their needs since it was the only local Bank in the state, Thsapongkyu encouraged every household to open an account in The Nagaland State Co-operative Bank .
Also speaking at the programme, asst. branch manager, NStCB Ltd,Kiphire,  Agangpu Rongmei, emphasized  on how the locals could avail the benefits of various deposit schemes and loans which could be provided by the Bank.
During the interaction session, several queries were raised by the participants. br. manager, NStCB Ltd, Kiphire branch, Vizol Kera gave a brief on the formation of SHGs and the role played by it for raising their families above the poverty line, and for socio-economic development of the society as a whole. The youth present at the camp also joined in the discussion and raised queries about the various schemes which the unskilled and unemployed youth could invest in for increasing their income.
Meanwhile, chairman, Tethuyo village, Kuringmong Sangtam, expressed gratitude to the BOD and bank staff for holding the camp and pointed out that it was the first occasion where financial literacy and banking awareness program was held in the village. The camp was attended by VCC members, village elders, various SHGs, unemployed youth and farmers.  
Kiphire: One day Financial Literacy & Credit Consultancy (FL&C) Camp was organized by Nagaland State Co-operative Bank (NStCB) Ltd, Kiphire branch, supported under FIF managed by NABARD on May 14, at Seyochung village, Kiphire district. The programme was led by NStCB Ltd, branch manager Kiphire Vizol Kera.
In the opening remark, village council chairman, Seyochung Village expressed lauded the bank for being the first institution to hold such literacy awareness camp in the village. 
During the camp, keynote address was delivered by NStCB Ltd, Kiphire branch, board of director, Thsapongkyu Sangtam where urged the village folk to be sincere and inculcate the habit of hard labour in any economic activity that they undertook. 
He pointed out the importance of bank- customer relationship, and encouraged that each member of the village to open an account and avail the various schemes being provided by the Bank. 
Sangtam further stated that crops produced in Nagaland are organic and of better quality, unlike other states in mainland India which require fertilizers at extra cost. 
Various deposit schemes and other loan facility provided by the bank was highlighted by NStCB Ltd, Kiphire assistant branch manager, Agangpu Rongmei.
The programme followed interactive session between the Bank staff and the participants of the camp. 
Altogether 100 participants including village elders, VCC members, SHGs and farmers attended the programme.
