District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Dimapur district for the month of June was held on June 6 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Dimapur, chaired by parliamentary secretary, Irrigation &Flood Control and chairman DPDB Dimapur, Jacob Zhimomi.
According to DIPR report, Jacob briefed the house on reallocation of convergence fund under LADP during 2015 to 2016 and informed that during 2015-2016 an amount of Rs.600 lakh @ Rs.10 lakh per constituency was set aside from LADP fund for taking up convergence activities under MGNREGA Act.
Regretting that the convergence of LADP and MGNREGA could not materialize due to technical reasons, Jacob, however ,informed the house that the fund has been reverted to LADP for taking up schemes/projects as per LADP guidelines.
In this respect, the board after examining the schemes submitted by the five assembly constituencies approved the schemes amounting to Rs.10 lakh against each assembly constituency against the reallocation of convergence fund under LADP during 2015 -2016. Other agendas discussed in the meeting included up gradation of Springfield School, Ruzaphema block III and grant in aid to the following eight schools- St. John Hr. Sec Residential School Dimapur, Woodstock School Padumpukhuri Dimapur, Dovecot Christian School Chumukedima Dimapur, Assemblies of God English School Diphupar B Dimapur, St.Joseph Hr Sec.School Chumukedima Dimapur, St.Anthony School Tenyiphe, Dimapur, St. Teresas Little Kingdom School, Dimapur and Nazareth High School Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
Medical department gave their departmental presentation. Industries department and Sericulture department would give their departmental presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
