District Congress Committee (DCC) Peren has appealed to the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) Peren for early disposal of a case pertaining to educational qualification of chief minister T.R.Zeliang. The JMFC Peren has fixed the hearing of the case on June 14, 2016.
In a petition to the JMFC Peren, the DCC Peren president Aluibe Iheilung expressed hope that justice would be delivered to the people without any further delay.
DCC Peren stated that if justice was not delivered to the people in due to time, the complainant “may have no other option” but seek the intervention of the Supreme Court of India “as is the practice of any other undelivered case by the subordinate courts in the country.”
On April 25, 2016, the Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench transferred the case to the court of JMFC Peren district.
