NSCN (K) has said that the Kughato Chishi, who was apprehended by Assam Rifles and lodged at Central Jail Dimapur, was reportedly released “despite serious incriminating evidences found in his possession.”
NSCN (K) MIP said while other NSCN workers arrested on similar charges were booked under non-bailable “Un-lawful Activities Preventive Act”, the nature of arrest and acquittal of Kughato “was highly suspicious and clearly exhibits a deep rooted conspiracy whereby Kughato is doubtlessly a double agent serving the interest of Indian Army all the while”. In order to “avert further duping”, MIP has issued a ‘public notice’ stating that “Kughato Chishi former dy. secy. GPRN is a traitor and his extortion networks untill his arrest covering Gauhati to Imphal goods transportations, dealerships on various essential commodities in and around Dimapur and Kohima, demand notes served on various departments in Kohima and Peren Districts etc identifying himself as Central Finance Secretary are to be considered annuled and unauthorized”. MIP has appealed public authorities, business organisations and individuals dealing with Kughato, to immediately terminate the transaction.
