
DCVO Pughoboto office imparted awareness programme on fertility management on July 15, to 32 dairy farmers of Pughoboto/ Ghatashi block.
Resource person, VAS veterinary dispensary, Dr. Tekasangba Jamir explained on how to take care and manage the mother and the calf during conception, after pasturation and milking stage.
He gave detail explanation on ration schedule with vitamins and mineral mixture for different stages of the calf and mother. Further, Dr. Tekasangba explained on the importance on insurance scheme of the dairy animal and artificial insemination and their benefits.
Earlier, DCVO in his welcome and key note address, expressed happiness for the good response by the farming community. In his short speech he also briefed on the farmers oriented activities of the department.
DVCO also encouraged the farmers to opt for adoption of scientific type of farming rather than traditional method and called to take up more intensified dairy farming venture.
He said to avail, poor farmers oriented schemes and facilities, for better genetic and production improvement through A.I. and insurance of their dairy animals with very minimum premium deposit to help recoup losses through dead.
DVCO said this is being implemented by government of India through Nagaland Livestock Development Board (NLDB), under NPBB. The programme was followed by an interactive session.
