In yet another major haul, the Narcotics Cell, PHQ, Nagaland, has reportedly detected and seized about 1kg Brown Sugar from a Bihar-bound bus and arrested one person in this connection.
According to an official bulletin, the SP(Crime)& PRO, Nagaland Police, M. Tungoe, disclosed that the price of seized smack in the international market was estimated at about Rs.1crore. The accused has been identified as Raman Kumar, hailing from Motihari district, Bihar. On being interrogated, the accused revealed that the consignment was to be collected by an unknown person once the bus reached its destination. A case has been registered and investigation is being taken up, PRO said.
1 held in Ponzi scam: In another incident, a team from Nagaland Police arrested one accused identified as one Chandan Sinha Roy from Kolkata on charges of his involvement in a Ponzi scam. The accused was reportedly in the board of directors of Ever Light Realcon Infrastructure Limited (ERIL), involved in duping/cheating hundreds of depositors and swindling crores of rupees. An SIT set up for thorough investigation of the case has so far charge sheeted 10 accused. Earlier, the SIT had arrested one Biplap Kumar Dey from Jharkhand, another accused in the case.
