Dr. Abhijit Mitra called upon the chief minister at his residential office, Kohima on Thursday discussed issues like registration of Mithun as a food animal under FSSAI, inclusion of Mithun farming as a profitable venture in the Vision-2030 of Nagaland, establishment of Mithun farm under Department of Veterinary & A.H of Nagaland, celebration of annual ‘Mithun day’ across the NE states and the need of bankable scheme for Mithun farming.  While lauding the ICAR-NRCM for continual scientific efforts towards understanding of Mithun production and health, Zeliang reportedly showed zeal and interest for improvement of Mithun husbandry.  Further, Dr. Mitra has expressed hope that with intervention and guidance of the chief minister, the issues would be addressed and the Mithun as well as the Mithun farmers of the region would be benefited.
