Nagaland State Co-Operative Bank Ltd. Wokha Branch, supported under FIF managed by NABARD, organised Financial Literacy Consultancy Camp (FLCC) on August 24 at Old Riphyim village.
Delivering the keynote address, branch manager NSCB Ltd. Wokha, Masheto Nadu stressed on the importance of banking knowledge for every person. He opined that every individual, especially in the rural areas/villages, should know how to open/maintain an account and the benefits of having an account which, he said, was the real purpose of organising FLCC.
Nadu also explained the various types of deposit and called upon every participant to open account with NSCB Ltd and use the benefits offered by the Bank. Head GB of the village, Nranyimo Ngullie, acknowledged and thanked the Bank officials for organising the camp in their Village.
Around 130 participants from all sector attended the camp and a total of 24 new accounts were opened on the spot while many consented of banking with NSCB Ltd in the near future.
Earlier, the camp started with invocation by pastor, Old Riphyim Baptist Church, Chumben Patton and VDB secretary, Old Riphyim village, Michael Kithan, rendered the welcome note address, vote of thanks was delivered by (RO) NSCB Ltd. Wokha, N. Mhathung Kithan and benediction by catechist, Old Riphyim Catholic Church, Thomas Patton.
