Rengma Handicapped Union (RHU) celebrated its 3rd foundation day on September 9 at Tseminyu Town Hall.
In the programme, chief guest, Dr. Daniel Thong, read out a paper presentation prepared by State Commissioner for Disability, Dr. Atha Vizol which stated that “equal opportunity, protection of right and full participation of differently able were guaranteed under the PWD Act 1995.”
President, Rengma Hoho, Kenny Tep, in his exhortation urged upon the churches and villagers leaders to help differently able person in every possible way.
He suggested RHU leaders to organize assessment camp for differently able persons and provide Medical Disability Certificate so that they could avail schemes meant for them.
While highlighting the history and functions of RHU, Hillo Khing encouraged the RHU leaders to strengthen the union to work with commitment and faith.
Earlier, the function was chaired by RHU general secretary, A. Khing, invocation by executive secretary CRBC, Haiwalo Apon, while RHU president Kevishe Seb delivered the welcome address.
