F&CS deptt director clarifies to NPRAAF

September 20, 2016 | by admin

Director F&CS Nagaland Alun Hangsing has responded to a demand for apology by Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) on July 4,2016 regarding his telephonic conversation (with a member of the NPRAAF on May 20), which was disclosed to the press.
In his statement, Hangsing clarified that he had maintained silence over the matter raised by NPRAAF neither to show that “might is right nor undermine NPRAAF or anybody” but was shocked and embarrassed by the revelation of the telephonic conversation. He however admitted also that he had hurt “others too by not responding” because of his personal aversion to “public display of personal emotions”. He further asserted that his response to NPRAAF was not for justifying himself over the misunderstanding. Hangsing thanked the organisation for encouraging him on self-introspection and for a positive change. In this he added that “ to err is human, to forgive divine” and appealed to the organisation to “forgive and forget and move on” towards a better, matured and healthier relationship.
