District Intelligence Branch of DEF Kohima while conducting surveillance duty near Khuzama village on October 19 at around 1230 hrs, intercepted one Maruti car bearing registration number AS-23D-0755 and recovered 100 kilos of contraband ganja worth Rs. 5,00,000/- in the national market.
In a press note by sub-divisional police officer (South) & PRO Atu Zumvü, Dapunü (25 yrs), son of Benjamin, Phaibung village, Senapati district was arrested and the accused along with the seized contraband was taken into police custody and a case is registered against him.
In another case Peren Police manning Peren–Maram road Police Check Post intercepted a Bolero pick-up bearing registration No.NL07A-6701, proceeding from Senapati to Dimapur on October 18 at around 0700 hours and recovered approximately 200 kgs of contraband cannabis (Ganja).
In a press note by SP Peren, Jeet Bahadur (30 yrs), S/o Damber Bahadur of Kalapahar village, Senapati district was arrested.
A case has been registered and investigation is on progress.
